Our music division at Ligonier Ministries exists to exalt the name of Christ and support the teaching of the Word of God with music. To that end, Ligonier Ministries will produce new collections of traditional hymnody and excellent sacred music performed by renowned vocalists and accomplished musicians. It is our hope that our efforts will bring glory to God by restoring the sense of reverence and gravitas found in more classical forms of worship.
Several of the projects, including The Church Triumphant, Volumes I and II and O Lord Most Holy, feature award-winning tenor Stuart Neill. These albums, accompanied by a classical orchestra, contain some of the best loved sacred hymns and music from the last two centuries. Also highlighted in the music division is choral music by J.A.C. Redford, collections by the Westminster Brass, and J. Marty Cope performing arrangements of hymns and other sacred music on one of the world’s largest pipe organs.
In addition, we feature a number of Christmas CDs with full choir, orchestra, hammered dulcimer, brass, and simple piano. We also sell the full version of Georg Friedrich Handel’s famous work Messiah.
AUDIO PRODUCTIONS
Biblical sermons stand the test of time. They are always relevant because they speak of the unchanging truth of God. Ligonier Ministries has begun an exciting venture to reintroduce some of the great sermons of the past to Christians today.
One of the ways we are accomplishing this venture is through the Classic Sermon Series. It is an ever-growing series created to provide historical examples of Christ-centered, biblical sermons. By making these sermons available to a wider audience, we hope to motivate Christians to rediscover transformative, Gospel preaching and encourage pastors and teachers to proclaim the richness of scriptural doctrine. Some of the sermons currently included in the Classic Sermon Series are:
Jonathan Edwards — “Sinners in the Hands of an Angry God”
George Whitefield — “The Method of Grace”
This Sermon Series will continue to grow and feature Max McLean, founder of the Fellowship for the Performing Arts, along with other dramatic readers. Currently in production are sermons by John Calvin, Martin Luther, and Saint Augustine.
McLean also reads from a collection of Puritan prayers entitled The Valley of Vision. These prayers cover a broad range of deep theological truths expressed in heartfelt devotion to God.
Ligonier is fortunate to be able to offer the Bible on CD and audiocassette, also narrated by Max McLean. Available in the New International Version (NIV), English Standard Version (ESV), and the King James Version (KJV), the audio Bible is an excellent way to learn the Scriptures through hearing the Word of God. |
